Sideshow Alley at the annual Ceduna Oysterfest each October long weekend
When is the next Oysterfest?
Our annual seaside oysterfest event is held on the long weekend in October.
Our annual oysterfest is a free seaside festival that is held every year on the October Labour Day long weekend. It’s one of South Australia’s premier food events and the largest oysterfest in Australia. If you’re seeking another reason to visit the Far West Coast our Oysterfest is by far the biggest event to plan your trip around, no matter if you’re an oyster lover or not.
Hosted on the beautiful shoreline of Murat Bay the Oysterfest includes family entertainment, parades, market stalls, live music, and arts and crafts throughout the long weekend. It’s the perfect time to be in the region with the whole family to enjoy the best that the town and surrounding community has to offer, not to mention the best opportunity to enjoy specially-grown quality oysters from the Oyster Capital of Australia.
Enjoy the festivities of the Oysterfest at the end of your Nullarbor trek, or at the beginning if you’re heading west. Or perhaps you’re not into a long road trip and would prefer the option of taking a short flight from Adelaide. Too easy! Just a 90 minute Rex flight from Adelaide Airport has you relaxing on our beautiful foreshore in under two hours. This allows you plenty of time to savour our fresh local seafood, catch your own King George Whiting on the jetty, and sample our locally grown oysters, or just raise your glass to another amazing sunset across the bay as you enjoy the entertainment.
The oysterfest begins with a street parade on the Saturday morning but there are often things to enjoy on the Friday also, so if you want to make the most of your Oysterfest experience it would be wise to allow the extra day. However, it’s best to get in and book your accommodation in Ceduna as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
No matter how you get here or how long you stay you’re bound to make some great memories at the Ceduna Oysterfest.
See you there!
